Dhaka: State Minister for Social Welfare Barrister Farzana Sharmin has declared that the upcoming local government election will surpass all previous elections in terms of transparency. "The government is taking all effective measures in this regard," she emphasized during her address as the chief guest at a District Law and Order Committee meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farzana elaborated that the forthcoming election will not feature any party symbols, allowing voters to evaluate and elect competent, talented, and educated individuals. She stated that the government aims to rejuvenate the local government system, which she claimed had been previously dismantled, through this election. The objective is to make the system fully operational and to ensure grassroots-level development throughout the country.
Farzana further mentioned that since assuming office, the government has initiated activities that have fostered a sense of trust and confidence among the populace. "We are formulating and implementing effective plans to ensure people's welfare," she reiterated.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including Superintendent of Police Muha. Shariful Haque, Civil Surgeon Dr. Muhammad Mashiur Rahman, District BNP Member Secretary Md Asaduzzaman Asad, and members of the District Law and Order Committee, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mst Sumoni Akter.
