Mymensingh: Two people were killed and four others injured when a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Mymensingh-Gafargaon road at Kalirbazar in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh district on Monday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, one of the deceased was identified as Jashim, 38, the driver of the auto-rickshaw and son of Mofiz Uddin of Suthiakhali village, while the identity of the other victim could not be immediately confirmed.
The accident occurred around 12:30 pm when the sand-laden truck collided with the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, resulting in the driver being killed on the spot and five others suffering injuries, stated Mansur Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Trishal Police Station.
The injured individuals were transported to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared another person dead.
The police have seized the truck involved in the incident.
