Dhaka: Three more children succumbed to measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours starting at 8 am on Saturday. This brings the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,022 since March 15.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release issued by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) announced that seven children died with suspected measles in the last 24 hours. This raises the total number of deaths from suspected measles to 922 since March 15.
The press release highlighted that no deaths from confirmed measles were recorded in the last 24 hours. However, it noted that 100 children have died from confirmed measles from March 15 to September 13.
The release further detailed that 905 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, with the total number of suspected cases reaching 171,543 from March 15 to September 13. During the same period, there were 63 confirmed measles cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 20,069 since March 15.
From March 15 to September 13, a total of 151,024 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals, and 145,252 patients were discharged during the same period.
