Dhaka: The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has hosted a pre-departure reception for eight students from the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER), who are set to undergo technical training at the Zhejiang Agricultural Business College in China.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event took place on Saturday at the BCCCI office in Gulshan. The gathering was marked by the presence of Commerce Secretary Md. Ataur Rahman Khan, ndc, who attended as the chief guest. He praised BCCCI President Mohd. Khorshed Alam for spearheading an initiative aimed at developing skilled manpower for Bangladesh's textile sector, highlighting the importance of private-sector efforts in fostering practical learning and international exposure for students.

The commerce secretary expressed optimism that such programmes could become models for industry-academia collaboration, bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial needs. He emphasized the significance of skilled human resources, hands-on training, and a supportive business environment for enhancing Bangladesh's industrial competitiveness.

BCCCI President Mohd. Khorshed Alam reiterated the chamber's commitment to cultivating future textile professionals through global exposure and practical learning. He shared insights from his visits to industries in 46 countries, emphasizing the adoption of global best practices in clean production, workplace safety, energy efficiency, and modern manufacturing technologies. Alam encouraged the students to maximize their training experience in China and return with knowledge that could advance Bangladesh's textile and garment industry.
