Dhaka: The qualifying round of the 50th National 'B' Chess Championship Region-1, encompassing Dhaka City, Dhaka Division, and all districts within the Dhaka Division, has kicked off today at the Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) sports room.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event, organized by the BCF, sees the participation of 118 players. The competition follows a seven-round Swiss League system, a structure that allows players to be paired against opponents with similar scores in each round.
The tournament is set to identify the top twenty players who will advance to the Region-1 Dhaka Final, an opportunity that brings them closer to national recognition in the chess community.
