Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday urged students to love and care for all animals while protecting nature and the environment. He emphasized the responsibility of humans, as the best of creation, to care for plants and animals, calling on students to show compassion towards animals and never harm them.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with students from Puthia Girls' High School in Rajshahi, Savar Girls' High School in Dhaka, Tejgaon Women's College, and Safiuddin Sarker Academy and College in Tongi at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. He encouraged the students to plant more trees and maintain clean, pollution-free surroundings.
Tarique Rahman highlighted the importance of developing responsible habits towards nature, the environment, and animals from an early age. He also urged students to regularly engage in sports and cultural activities alongside their studies, encouraging participation in singing, recitation, drawing, and playing musical instruments as part of their cultural endeavors.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister advised the students to practice Quranic recitation. Emphasizing the importance of sports for physical and mental development, he noted that regular participation in sports helps maintain a healthy body while fostering discipline, confidence, concentration, and team spirit.
A total of 36 female students from classes VI to X and eight teachers of Puthia Girls' High School, along with 50 female students from classes VI to X and four teachers of Savar Girls' High School, visited the Parliament complex. Additionally, 46 students from class XII and 11 teachers of Tejgaon Women's College, as well as 47 students from classes VIII to XII and six teachers of Safiuddin Sarker Academy and College, were present.
The students witnessed the proceedings of the Jatiya Sangsad and expressed their excitement at the opportunity to meet and speak directly with the Prime Minister. They stated that his advice and guidance were inspiring and that the meeting would remain a memorable experience in their lives.
