Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today urged students to show love and care for all animals alongside protecting nature and the environment. 'As the best of all creations, it is our responsibility to take care of plants and animals. We must show compassion towards animals and never hurt them,' he said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister made these statements when students from different schools across the country met him at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today, as reported by his Assistant Press Secretary Gazi Shahriar Pamir. Tarique Rahman encouraged the students to plant more trees and maintain cleanliness to prevent pollution, emphasizing the importance of developing responsible attitudes towards nature, the environment, and animals from an early age.
He also motivated them to engage in sports and cultural activities alongside their academic pursuits, such as singing, recitation, drawing, and playing musical instruments. Additionally, he advised the students to practice Quran recitation (Qirat). Highlighting the significance of sports for physical and mental development, the Prime Minister remarked that regular sports activities not only maintain physical health but also foster discipline, self-confidence, concentration, and team spirit.
A total of 36 students and eight teachers from Puthia Girls' High School, and 50 students and four teachers from Savar Girls' High School visited the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today. Additionally, 46 students and 11 teachers from Tejgaon Mahila College, and 47 students and six teachers from Shaheeduddin Sarker Academy and College also toured the parliament complex.
The students, who also attended a parliamentary session during their visit, expressed their excitement at the opportunity to meet and converse directly with the Prime Minister. They stated that his advice and guidance inspired them and that the meeting would remain a memorable event in their lives.
