Dhaka: The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Inter-Base Hockey Competition-2026 of the Bangladesh Air Force took place at the hockey ground of BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker, Dhaka Cantonment. The event marked the end of a fiercely contested tournament, culminating on Thursday with BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker team emerging victorious.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the team from BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker claimed the championship title after defeating BAF Base Zahurul Haque team by a score of 6-2 in the final match. The final was attended by Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Rushad Din Asad, BBP, OSP, BPP, ndu, aowc, psc, who was present as the chief guest. He also distributed the prizes to both the Champion and the Runner-Up teams.
The event was graced by the presence of the Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bir Uttam A K Khandker and other senior officers and members. The competition was inaugurated by Air Vice Marshal Haider Abdullah, GUP, ndc, fawc, psc on September 06. A total of seven teams from BAF participated in the five-day long competition, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.
