Dhaka: Six people died of dengue, and 1,492 were hospitalised after being infected with dengue in the last 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to a regular report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the new hospitalised dengue patients, 559 were in Dhaka Division, 80 in Mymensingh Division, 202 in Chattogram Division, 284 in Khulna Division, 178 in Barishal Division, 54 in Rangpur Division, 122 in Rajshahi Division, and 13 in Sylhet Division.
The report indicates that a total of 48,430 dengue patients have been hospitalised across the country this year. With the six deaths in the past 24 hours, the total death toll from the disease has reached 139 this year.
In the last 24 hours, 1,304 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals. This year, a total of 44,857 dengue patients have recovered and returned home after receiving treatment in hospitals.
Last year, a total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, and 413 people died from the disease.
