Dhaka: A fire that broke out on the rooftop of a four-storey building beside the British American Tobacco Bangladesh office in Dhaka's Mohakhali area was brought under control.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fire started at around 11:11 am in discarded plastic materials kept on the rooftop of an old building. It was doused after a half-hour effort at 11:40 am, as reported by Fire Service media officer Talha bin Zasim.
Three units from the Tejgaon Fire Station responded to the incident and worked to contain the blaze. 'The fire has been brought under control and there is no risk of it spreading further,' said Talha.
A high-voltage electrical substation is located on the third floor of the building. No fire spread to the substation was reported.
