Dhaka: Narayanganj district emerged as the champions in the boys’ category, while Narail district clinched the girls’ title at the 30th National Junior Wrestling Championship, which concluded today at the national roller skating complex in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the boys’ category, Narayanganj claimed the championship by securing four medals, comprising three gold and one bronze. Narail, as the first runners-up, obtained two medals, including one gold and one silver. Khulna followed as the second runners-up with a total of five medals, consisting of one gold and four bronzes.
In the girls’ category, Narail demonstrated dominance, securing seven medals, which included five golds, one silver, and one bronze, to earn the championship title. Kurigram district finished as the first runners-up with three medals, comprising one gold, one silver, and one bronze. Rangpur district took the second runners-up position with three medals, including one gold and two bronzes.
The closing ceremony of the two-day event was graced by Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation President Major General A S M Ridwanur Rahman, who attended as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
