Jatiya sangsad: Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikrom, today released fish fingerlings into the Sangsad Bhaban lake, said a press release here. JS Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Whip ABM Ashraf Uddin (Nizan), Minister for Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid, and State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku were present.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, whips, Members of Parliament, the Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and the Director General of the Department of Fisheries also participated in the event. The Department of Fisheries, under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, organized the activity as part of National Fisheries Week-2026.
A total of 450 kilograms of fingerlings of Rui, Katla, and Kalibaush species were introduced into the lake, marking a significant effort to enhance local fish populations and promote sustainable fishing practices in the region.
