Rajshahi: Kazi Abdur Rahman has officially taken up the position of Managing Director at Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) following a promotion, as confirmed by a government notification from the Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance, dated September 3, 2026. His appointment marks a significant transition within the bank's leadership.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, before assuming his current role, Kazi Abdur Rahman was the Deputy Managing Director of Janata Bank PLC. His extensive career also includes serving as the Deputy Managing Director for Agrani Bank PLC, Rupali Bank PLC, and Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB).
Kazi Abdur Rahman began his banking career in 1998 when he joined Rupali Bank as a Senior Officer. Throughout his career at Rupali Bank, he held various positions such as Branch Head of several branches, Corporate Branch Head, Principal Branch Head, Zonal Head, and Divisional Head in Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Dhaka (South).
His academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Islamic History and Culture from the National University and an MBA degree from Khulna University. Additionally, he is a Deplumed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh.
Kazi Abdur Rahman has enhanced his professional skills through participation in numerous training programs, workshops, seminars, and symposiums both domestically and internationally, including at the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) and Bangladesh Bank.
He hails from a respected Muslim family in Syedmohalla village, Fakirhat Upazila, Bagerhat District.
