Gaibandha: A microbus driver was killed and five passengers were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus near Sako Bridge on the Gaibandha-Palashbari highway under Palashbari upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Md Masud Rana, 35, son of Md Faizar Rahman of Basgora village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred near the bridge when a bus of Al Hamra Paribahan collided head-on with the microbus. The force of the collision resulted in the immediate death of microbus driver Masud Rana, while five passengers sustained injuries.
Locals promptly came to the aid of the injured, admitting them to a hospital for necessary treatment. Officer-in-Charge of Palashbari Police Station Sarwar Alam confirmed the incident.
