Dhaka: The Jatiya Sangsad has established 10 parliamentary standing committees on various ministries. On behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Jatiya Sangsad Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni put forward the proposals for the formation of these committees.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the proposals were subsequently approved by voice votes with Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal presiding over the session. The committees have been designated for the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Land, and Ministry of Religious Affairs.
