Dhaka: The government has cancelled the remaining contractual tenures of the managing directors (MDs) and chief executive officers (CEOs) of three state-owned banks. Separate notifications issued by the Financial Institutions Division (FID) under the Ministry of Finance confirmed the cancellation of appointments at Agrani Bank PLC, BASIC Bank PLC, and Bangladesh Development Bank PLC (BDBL).
According to United News of Bangladesh, Md Anwarul Islam was removed as MD and CEO of Agrani Bank PLC, while Md Kamruzzaman Khan from BASIC Bank PLC and Md Jashim Uddin from BDBL were also dismissed. The notifications instructed the respective boards of directors of the state-owned institutions to immediately implement the decisions and take necessary operational measures as per regulations.
