Chittagong: Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Sa Ching Prue has called upon all political and regional parties in the hill areas to work together to ensure peace, harmony, and sustainable development. He made the call today while addressing a mass reception and rally organised at the Bandarban Press Club premises, marking his first visit to Bandarban after assuming office and the 48th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister emphasized that peaceful coexistence is the fundamental basis of the hill region. Under the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, equitable distribution of resources in the hills will be ensured. He assured continued government support to improve healthcare services, increase the supply of safe drinking water, and promote coffee and cashew cultivation among farmers.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Bandarban, Prue said their trust and support had enabled him to represent the hill people in parliament and the cabinet. He pledged to build a discrimination-free Bandarban based on the ideals of the national flag and founded on peace, discipline, and harmony.
Bandarban District BNP Senior Joint Convener Md Osman Gani presided over the programme. BNP leaders and activists, including Joint Convener Mujibur Rashid, Abdul Quddus, and Md Jahangir Alam, were present. Earlier, the minister inaugurated Hotel Hilly Rainbow Bandarban at Nilachal Road intersection.
