Jamalpur: A 30-year-old nurse was found dead at her residence in Chalapara in Jamalpur district town on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Roksana Akter Shila, daughter of Abdul Rashid of Chalapara village. On information, a team of police went to the spot and recovered the body, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station Nazmus Sakib.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the body was sent to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Shila’s mother, Safirunnesa, mentioned that Shila returned home around 11:00 pm on Monday, but her body was discovered on the bed the following morning. “I simply cannot believe this,” she expressed. Shila was employed as a staff nurse at a private hospital on Shaheed Harun Road in Jamalpur town, her mother added.
It was reported that Shila had been married several times and had a 10-year-old son from her first marriage. The child was staying with his maternal grandmother on the night of the incident. It remains unclear whether her current husband, Rafiqul Islam, was present at home during the incident. OC Nazmus Sakib stated that they were investigating the incident.
