Dhaka: Bangladesh Under-19 team secured a thrilling four-run victory over the Under-23 team, marking their second consecutive win in the Game Development trophy at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Under-19 team, having already dominated the Under-17 side with a massive 246-run victory in their previous game, was put into bat first. They managed to score a total of 226 runs. In response, the Under-23 team was bowled out for 222 in 49.3 overs, narrowly missing the target. The standout performer for the Under-19 side was pacer Abdur Rahim, who clinched four wickets for 52 runs, playing a pivotal role in snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. Al Rafi and Tafiul Alam Tamim contributed with two wickets each, while SK Jarif Siyam and Robiul Hasan Anik took one wicket apiece. For the Under-23 team, Rizan Hossan was the top scorer with 44 runs, while opener Khalid Hasan added 34 runs to the scoreboard. Despite a promising start, SK Jarif Siyam, who had pr eviously scored a brilliant 99 against the Under-17, managed only 19 runs this time. However, his fellow opener Abdullah Al Muhib's 40 runs helped maintain momentum before Robiul Hasan Anik's solid 65 runs steadied the innings, pushing the total beyond 200. Ahsan Al Mumin and Farhan Sadik also contributed with scores of 37 and 29, respectively. On the bowling front for the Under-23 team, Sheikh Parvez Jibon was effective with figures of 3-38, while Azizul Hakim Tamim and Ahrar Amin Pean took two wickets each.
