Rajshahi: The Traffic Division of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) today organized a traffic law awareness workshop for auto-rickshaw and charger-rickshaw drivers and owners, as well as motorcycle riders. The initiative aimed to promote road safety and ensure discipline among road users.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop was held at the RMP Traffic Office under the theme "Know the traffic laws, obey the traffic laws." The event was attended by Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Nur Alam Siddiqui and other senior officers of the Traffic Division. Participants were thoroughly briefed on the importance of adhering to traffic laws and maintaining road discipline, including avoiding illegal parking and wrong-way driving.

The workshop also emphasized the necessity of complying with regulations regarding prescribed vehicle colors, picking up and dropping off passengers at designated spots, and avoiding the use of high-noise devices on motorcycles. Participants were reminded of the significance of wearing helmets, refraining from carrying extra passengers, steering clear of driving under the influence of drugs, and keeping all required documents valid and accessible.

In collaboration with BNSB Eye Hospital, specialist doctors were present at the event to conduct eye examinations and provide necessary eye-care services to the participating drivers. RMP officials underlined that such awareness programmes would continue as part of their efforts to ensure safer and more orderly roads in the city.
