Lalmonirhat: Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, has emphasized that improving the communication system is crucial for expanding business and trade, as well as accelerating economic development. "There is no alternative to improving the communication system for the development of commerce, business and trade," he remarked.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister made these comments during the inauguration of the newly constructed 130.85-metre pre-stressed concrete (PC) girder Ratnai Bridge on the Lalmonirhat-Phulbari road in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila. The event took place on Saturday and was highlighted in a press release from the Press Information Department (PID).
Minister Dulu noted that the bridge would alleviate long-standing sufferings of local residents, while also reducing travel time and transportation costs. The new infrastructure is expected to facilitate the movement of goods and boost trade in the region. He called upon the community to help maintain the communication network and make proper use of the bridge, which he described as "an important link for better communication."
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rashedul Haque Pradhan, District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mononita Das, and Roads and Highways Department Executive Engineer Debashish Saha. Leaders of various political parties, representatives from different professions, and journalists were also present at the event.
Following the bridge inauguration, Minister Dulu inspected the river adjacent to Kulaghat Bazar in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila, further underscoring the region's commitment to enhancing its infrastructure and economic prospects.
