Saturia: Food Minister Afroza Khanam Rita today affirmed the government's dedication to ensuring a safe and sufficient food supply, emphasizing the importance of food security as a fundamental human need. "Ensuring a safe and sufficient food supply is a commitment in the government's election manifesto," she stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at a reception held at the playground of Dhankora Girish Institute in Saturia upazila. She highlighted the government's responsibility to maintain adequate food-grain reserves to address any potential emergencies.
Minister Rita also issued a warning against negligence and irregularities in the food department, stating that such actions would not be tolerated. She mentioned that measures had already been taken against employees involved in irregularities at the Ghior upazila food department in Manikganj.
