Lakshmipur: Water Resources Minister Md Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee today emphasized that ethics holds greater significance than academic excellence in education. He made this statement while serving as the chief guest at a reception organized by the Lakshmipur Society to honor GPA-5 achievers from the Sadar and Chandraganj upazilas.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was presided over by Lakshmipur Society President and Bangladesh Football Federation Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy. During his address, Anee highlighted the government's commitment to prioritizing education as a means to foster a drug-free society. He warned of the ongoing conspiracy to undermine the nation's talent by bringing drugs from neighboring countries, cautioning the young generation to remain alert and vigilant.
Anee further elaborated that prioritizing education would shield society from moral degradation. He pointed out that the country is currently navigating through challenges and hardships, and the government took charge following the elections amidst difficult circumstances. He acknowledged Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's emphasis on the importance of education and health sectors.
The program was also attended by notable figures including Dr. Hanif Murad, Vice-Chancellor of Lakshmipur University of Science and Technology, SM Mehedi Hasan, Lakshmipur Deputy Commissioner, Sahab Uddin Sabu, District Council Administrator, and Professor Md Yusuf, Principal of Lakshmipur Government College, who participated as special guests.
