2 Arrested with 185 Bottles of Illegal Drug Syrup in Jashore

Jashore: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 arrested two people with 185 bottles of illegal drug syrup during a raid in the ShankarpurJamadarpara area of the district on Friday, said a RAB-6 press release today. The arrested individuals were identified as Md Mashiul Alam, 55, and Akhima Khatun, 43, both residents of ShankarpurJamadarpara.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team from the CPC-3 Jashore camp of RAB-6 conducted the raid under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Model Police Station. During the operation, the team seized 105 bottles of Wincerex and 80 bottles of Eskuf syrup from the possession of the arrested individuals.

The seized drugs were confiscated, and legal action was initiated against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act. The case was filed with the Kotwali Model Police Station. The arrested individuals, along with the seized items, were handed over to the concerned police station for further proceedings.

Major Md Fazle Rabbi Prince, the company commander of RAB-6 CPC-3 Jashore camp, stated that the anti-drug operations targeting accused, convicted, and warrant-listed individuals, as well as the recovery of illegal firearms, would persist. He also mentioned that RAB would continue its efforts against those involved in serious crimes such as murder and rape.
