Dhaka: Four more children have died with symptoms indicative of measles in the past 24 hours. This development raises the total number of deaths from measles-related illnesses to 922.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) stated that while no deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past day, four children succumbed to suspected measles. Since March 15, the confirmed measles death toll stands at 99, with an additional 823 deaths attributed to suspected measles cases, bringing the total to 922.
In the last 24 hours, health officials have identified 87 new confirmed cases of measles, alongside 1,018 new suspected cases. The DGHS data reveals that since March 15, there have been 145,711 reported cases of suspected measles and 18,076 confirmed cases.
