Fahad Holds Ground Against Russian Opponent in Abu Dhabi Chess Tournament

Dhaka: International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman split point with Woman Grandmaster Valeria Kleymenova of Russia in the third-round game of the Masters event at the 32nd Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, currently underway in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the third-round match held on Tuesday, IM Fahad, playing with the black pieces, faced WGM Kleymenova's Sicilian Defense. After a prolonged battle on the chessboard, the game concluded in a draw after fifty-nine moves. This result brought Fahad Rahman's total to 1.5 points out of three games played so far in the tournament.

Fahad is set to face FIDE Master Gleb Scheglov of Russia in the fourth round, scheduled for Wednesday. This upcoming match will provide another opportunity for Fahad to showcase his skills on the international stage.
