Dhaka: State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam today extended an invitation to the Indian business community to explore the opportunities offered by Bangladesh's new government's progressive trade and investment strategies aimed at fostering economic cooperation between Bangladesh and India.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the invitation was extended during a meeting with a visiting delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The State Minister highlighted the forward-looking trade and investment approach of the government, encouraging the Indian business community to leverage these opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The CII delegation included business leaders from prominent Indian companies and institutions across various sectors such as consumer goods, automobiles, petroleum, energy, and healthcare. Notable companies represented in the delegation were Bharat Biotech International Limited, The Infravision Foundation, Godrej Industries Group, Arvind Limited, Mahindra Group, Numaligarh Refinery Limited, Larsen and Toubro Limited, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, Forbes Marshall Pvt Ltd, Beximco IOC Petroleum and Energy Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and Apollo Hospitals.
The meeting was part of the Indian delegation's efforts to explore avenues for enhancing economic and commercial ties between the neighboring countries.
