Bagerhat: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam today emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of education and equipping the nation's youth with modern skills and technology proficiency. He highlighted various initiatives aimed at achieving these goals during a view-exchange meeting at Bagerhat Government Prafulla Chandra (P.C.) College.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister underscored the necessity of modern infrastructure and a supportive educational environment to foster students' knowledge and skills in alignment with technological and communication advancements. Speaking as the chief guest, Sheikh Rabiul Alam stressed that knowledge, technology, and skills are pivotal for development in the contemporary world, urging students to pursue practical skills alongside academic education.
He further noted that the future of the country hinges on its youth, and the government is actively working to create opportunities for them to develop their talents and contribute to national progress. The meeting was presided over by college Principal Professor Parveen Akhter and witnessed participation from Bagerhat-2 MP Sheikh Manjurul Haque Rahad, District Council Administrator Barrister Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain, among others.
During discussions, teachers and students addressed issues related to institutional infrastructure, the educational environment, and facilities available to students. Prior to the meeting, the minister inaugurated the widening and reconstruction of the 34-kilometre Bagerhat-Dashani-Helatala road, a project costing Tk 72.98 crore.
In addition to his engagements at the college, Sheikh Rabiul Alam attended a district BNP rally at the Bagerhat Zilla Parishad auditorium and visited the grave of late Badal Morol, president of Baruipara Union Krishak Dal. He also inaugurated a medical foundation in Bagerhat, marking a busy day of official duties.
