Khulna: Two unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked a teacher of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in the Mujgunni Residential Area of Khulna city on Wednesday afternoon. The victim, Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at KUET, experienced the assault while walking towards the main road from his residence.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Prof Rafiqul Islam filed a complaint with the Khalishpur Police Station regarding the incident, as confirmed by Sub-Inspector Biplab Sheikh. The attack occurred when two individuals approached the professor on a motorcycle and struck him on the neck before quickly fleeing the scene.
Police efforts to identify the attackers have been hindered due to the lack of a number plate on the motorcycle and unclear facial images from CCTV footage in the area. Sub-Inspector Sheikh noted that no visible injury marks were found on Prof Rafiqul's body, and the local authorities are actively investigating the incident to uncover further details.
