Dhaka: A court here today sent two people to jail in a case lodged with the capital's Rupnagar Police Station, under The Arms Act. The two accused are Rubel alias Langra Rubel and Tanjid Ahammed alias Bappa. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Kamal Uddin passed the order as police produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them behind bars till the end of the probe.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case documents reveal that a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested them from the Duaripara area under Rupnagar Police Station on August 11. Police recovered a foreign-made pistol and a bullet from their possession.
Police later filed the case in this connection, leading to today's court order. The investigation aims to uncover further details surrounding the possession of the illegal arms and any potential links to broader criminal activities.
