Dhaka: A preparatory meeting for the Regional SME Product Fair-2026 has been held to ensure smooth organization of the fair. The meeting took place in the conference room of the District Administration on Monday, with Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam presiding over the session.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Small and Medium Enterprise Foundation (SME Foundation) under the Ministry of Industries is organizing the fair in cooperation with the District Administration. Scheduled to be held at the Nazrul Village premises in Rajshahi from September 12, 2026, the fair aims to create opportunities for small and medium entrepreneurs to display and sell their products while expanding their markets.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam highlighted that the SME sector is a crucial driving force of the country’s economy. He emphasized that such fairs are vital for promoting locally manufactured products, broadening market reach, and fostering the development of new entrepreneurs. He called for
coordinated efforts from all relevant departments, institutions, and business organizations to ensure the fair’s success.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali discussed the necessary preparations to guarantee the fair’s success, urging all parties involved to diligently manage stalls, security, publicity, visitor amenities, and overall management.
The meeting was attended by key figures, including Chief Executive Officer of Rajshahi Zila Parishad Umme Fatima, Manager of SME Foundation Abu Sayeed, President of Bangladesh Silk Industry Owners Association Liakat Ali, Director of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce Ziauddin Ahmed, and various representatives from pertinent departments and institutions.
