Remittance Inflow Surges by 42.9% in Early August

Dhaka: Bangladesh received US$915 million in workers' remittances during the first eight days of August, marking a 42.9 percent increase compared with US$640 million received during the corresponding period of August last year.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$313 million in remittances on August 6-8 alone. Overall, remittance inflows reached US$3.773 billion from July 1 to August 8 of the current fiscal year (FY2026-27), up from US$3.118 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The latest figures indicate a 21.0 percent year-on-year growth in remittance inflows during the period, reflecting continued strong earnings from Bangladeshi migrant workers abroad.
