Dhaka: State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque today urged the country's young people to take the lead in building a peaceful, disciplined, and humane society by embracing social responsibility, moral values, and environmental awareness alongside sports, said a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Aminul, speaking as the chief guest at the "Tiger Run 2026" mini marathon organized at Jahangirnagar University to mark World Tiger Day, emphasized the crucial role of youth in preventing anarchy and fostering national development. He stressed that nation-building is a collective responsibility, extending beyond university authorities to every citizen. His vision is of a Bangladesh where peace prevails and chaos is not given a chance to flourish.
The State Minister commended the enthusiasm of the participants, highlighting it as a testament to the commitment and sense of responsibility needed to propel the country forward. He expressed his belief that young people would be the driving force behind a healthy and progressive society.
Aminul underscored the importance of events like the Tiger Run in raising awareness about wildlife conservation, the Sundarbans, and environmental protection. He advocated for the introduction of similar programs at universities nationwide to instill moral values, social responsibility, and humanitarian ideals among young people, thereby encouraging positive social change.
Reaffirming the government's commitment to addressing educated unemployment, Aminul stated that efforts are being made to focus on skills development, vocational training, and greater engagement of young people in social organizations to create sustainable employment opportunities. The goal is to ensure that no educated young man or woman remains unemployed by equipping them with the necessary skills for employment.
Aminul welcomed an initiative by a voluntary organization to involve around 25,000 volunteers, describing youth participation as essential for national development and building a compassionate society. He also responded to Jahangirnagar University's request for improved sports infrastructure, assuring that the government would consider the proposal upon formal submission.
