Dhaka: Bangladesh Waqf Administration under the Ministry of Religious Affairs has requested all concerned to refrain from the unlawful transfer of Waqf property.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry, in a message today, stated, "Any unlawful transfer of immovable property dedicated as Waqf for the satisfaction of Almighty Allah-through sale, gift, mortgage, lease, transfer by partnership, exchange, or by granting a lease for a period exceeding five years-is a punishable offence."
The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to the legal framework governing Waqf properties and urged all parties involved to avoid any actions that would contravene the stipulated guidelines. "All concerned are requested to refrain from transferring Waqf property," the message reads.
The directive comes in light of efforts to safeguard the integrity and intended purpose of Waqf properties, ensuring they remain dedicated to their spiritual and charitable purposes as intended by donors.
