Health Officials Report 580 Fresh Cases of Dengue Infection, 3 Deaths Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 580 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that in the span of 24 hours, 81 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 79 in Chattogram division, 125 in Dhaka division, 78 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 59 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 67 cases were recorded in Khulna division, 36 in Mymensingh division, 22 in Rajshahi division, 31 in Rangpur division, and two in Sylhet division.

Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has witnessed 59 deaths, with the disease affecting 16,684 individuals so far. In comparison, the previous year saw dengue claim 413 lives and infect 102,861 people across the country. The year 2024 recorded 575 deaths and 101,214 infections due to dengue.
