Dhaka: The inauguration of the Prime Minister's Gold Cup National Football Tournament-2026 has been postponed. Initially set for August 9, the tournament is now expected to commence in the second week of September, according to an order issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DSHE stated that the opening ceremony was deferred following instructions from the Ministry of Education. The directorate mentioned that the revised inauguration date and the detailed fixture of the tournament will be announced later.
The DSHE has instructed all Regional Directors, Deputy Directors, District Education Officers, and Upazila Secondary Education Officers nationwide to undertake necessary measures in accordance with the revised schedule.
