Dhaka: Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am. “Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. The forecast also indicates that the day temperature may fall slightly while the night temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded at 34.5 degrees Celsius in Dhaka and Nikli of Kishoreganj, whereas today’s minimum temperature stands at 23.8 degrees Celsius in Sylhet. In the last 24 hours (till 06 am today), Tetulia experienced the highest rainfall of 87 millimetres.
The sun is set to descend at 6.41 pm today and will rise again at 5.28 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
