Dhaka: Commissioner of Rajshahi Division, Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid, emphasized the importance of building resistance against corruption starting from the family unit. He noted that instilling values of honesty, morality, and responsibility in children from an early age is crucial for developing a corruption-free generation. Dr. Rashid made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony for an anti-corruption debate, essay, and painting competition held at Nanking Darbar Hall in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the competition saw the participation of 200 students from eight secondary-level educational institutions within the metropolitan area. The event was jointly organized by the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee. Out of all participants, 17 students were awarded for their excellence in the debate, essay, and painting categories, while consolation prizes were distributed to all participants.
The ceremony was presided over by Md. Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui, Assistant Director of the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Rajshahi. Ehsanul Huda Dulu, General Secretary of the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee, delivered the welcome speech.
Professor Md. Humayun Kabir, Director of Secondary and Higher Education, Rajshahi Region, and Toufiqur Rahman Lablu, President of the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee, participated as special guests. The program was conducted by Abdur Rokon Masum, a member of the Metropolitan Corruption Prevention Committee, with Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Director of the Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission, also present.
Awsaf Nahian Adib, a student from Rajshahi Collegiate School, was recognized as the best speaker in the corruption prevention debate competition. Expressing his determination, Adib mentioned that his achievement has inspired him to be more responsible and to advocate for honesty and morality through the power of logic.
In the painting competition, Mehrima Hasan Aroni from River View Collectorate School secured first place. She expressed her satisfaction in being able to highlight the harmful aspects of corruption through her artwork and stated that the recognition will further encourage her to engage in social awareness initiatives in the future.
