Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 37 people in separate special operations conducted by Jatrabari and Gulshan police stations in the capital on Saturday, targeting individuals involved in various criminal activities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a DMP press release issued on Sunday stated that Jatrabari Police arrested 23 people during raids in crime-prone areas under the police station’s jurisdiction. These arrests were part of a concerted effort to address criminal activities in the area and ensure public safety.
In a separate operation, Gulshan Police apprehended 14 people from different crime-prone areas within its jurisdiction. The operations were designed to target both suspects wanted in pending cases and individuals allegedly involved in various offences.
Police have indicated that these drives are part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order across the capital. The initiative reflects a broader strategy to enhance security measures and reinforce public trust in law enforcement agencies.
All the arrestees have been produced before the competent court for further legal proceedings. The DMP continues to urge citizens to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activities to support their mission of maintaining peace and security in the city.
