Dhaka: An e-ticketing system has been launched at the outpatient department (OPD) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery to make healthcare services more accessible, faster, and hassle-free for patients. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain formally inaugurated the digital service this morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, S M Ziauddin Hyder, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister with the status of State Minister for Health Affairs, attended the inauguration ceremony. Following the event, they toured the institute to observe the operation of the newly introduced system. The health minister highlighted that patients previously had to arrive at the hospital very early and endure long queues to collect OPD tickets. The e-ticketing system is expected to significantly reduce such challenges, enabling patients to receive treatment more quickly and in a more orderly manner.

Patients will need to complete online registration only once to use the e-ticketing system. After the initial registration, their information will be securely stored for future visits, eliminating the need to provide the same information repeatedly. The system will also preserve patients' previous hospital visit records and treatment history, assisting physicians in providing faster, more accurate, and effective medical care.

The modern patient-friendly service has been implemented under the initiative of the institute's Director, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin.
