Monno’s Death Anniversary Observed in Gilanda

Gilanda: The ninth death anniversary of former minister Harunar Rashid Khan Monno, father of the current Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita, was observed in his native village of Gilanda today. A dua mahfil was organized to commemorate the occasion, drawing the presence of Afroza Khanam Rita along with leaders and workers of the BNP and its affiliated organizations, as well as a large gathering of people from various walks of life.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Afroza Khanam Rita expressed her commitment to following the teachings of her late father, who had established a medical college and hospital in Monno City, Gilanda, with the aim of providing medical treatment to rural communities. In honor of her father's legacy, she inaugurated a new four-bed ICU unit at the Monno Medical College Hospital, marking it as the first ICU unit in the district. She announced plans to gradually increase the number of ICU beds to better serve the community's health needs.

The event was attended by Dr. Abdul Karim, the principal of the college, along with doctors, nurses, and local leaders, who gathered to honor the contributions of Harunar Rashid Khan Monno and witness the expansion of healthcare facilities in the region.
