Two Teenagers Killed in Tragic Rajshahi Truck-Motorcycle Collision

Rajshahi: Two teenagers lost their lives and another was injured following a collision involving a truck and a motorcycle in front of Kesharhat Degree College under Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi on Friday night.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred at approximately 8:30 PM when a drum truck traveling towards Rajshahi struck the motorcycle from behind and fled the scene. Mohanpur Fire Service Leader Rezwan Mondal reported that all three individuals on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries due to the collision.

Upon receiving information about the accident, a team from the Mohanpur Fire Service promptly arrived at the scene to rescue the injured. They transported them to Mohanpur Upazila Health Complex for immediate medical attention. Sadly, Limon, a 16-year-old from Singhmara village, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Doctors at the health complex later declared Ratul Mia, a 15-year-old from Sankoa village, dead. Meanwhile, the third victim, Swadhin Mia, aged 17, was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Helena Akhtar, the additional superintendent of Mohanpur police, confirmed the incident. Police have since seized the truck involved in the collision; however, the driver and helper managed to escape. Efforts are currently ongoing to apprehend them.
