Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 3,172 cases against traffic law violators during the last 24 hours in the capital. The operation, aimed at curbing traffic violations, also led to the impounding of 715 vehicles and towing of 186 vehicles, as stated in a press release issued by the DMP today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Traffic Division conducted these enforcement drives on Wednesday, July 29, across various areas in the capital. The Traffic Division’s effort was divided among several divisions, each contributing to the overall number of cases filed. Specifically, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 140 cases, the Traffic-Lalbagh Division 180 cases, the Traffic-Motijheel Division 319 cases, the Traffic-Wari Division 714 cases, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division 256 cases, the Traffic-Mirpur Division 946 cases, the Traffic-Uttara Division 401 cases, and the Traffic-Gulshan Division 216 cases.
The DMP has indicated that these traffic enforcement drives will continue throughout the capital in an effort to maintain traffic discipline.
