Dhaka: Women and Children Affairs Minister Prof Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain today affirmed the government's dedication to supporting individuals across all demographics, emphasizing inclusivity beyond race, religion, and political identity.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister highlighted this commitment at the inauguration of the "Project Rise Ward for Child Health Care," a new facility aimed at enhancing healthcare for children with special needs. The event was hosted by The Dawoodi Bohras of Bangladesh at the Bangladesh Shishu Kallyan Parishad in the capital. Prof Zahid emphasized the potential for children with special needs to integrate into mainstream society with appropriate medical and therapeutic support, urging affluent citizens to join governmental efforts in this cause.
He further noted the availability of tax rebates for donations to social welfare organizations, encouraging citizens to contribute to fostering an inclusive and humane society in Bangladesh. The minister expressed gratitude towards the Bangladesh Shishu Kallyan Parishad and The Dawoodi Bohras of Bangladesh for their significant contributions to this initiative.
The Bangladesh Shishu Kallyan Parishad, established in 1957, will see its existing 80-bed physiotherapy center expanded by 70 additional beds, allowing it to serve a total of 150 children with special needs. The event was chaired by Bir Muktijoddha Dr Makhduma Nargis Ratna and attended by representatives from The Dawoodi Bohras of Bangladesh and other organizations focused on children's welfare.
