Dhaka: The deadline for submitting applications for the recruitment of data collectors and supervisors under the Department of Social Services' "Family Card" implementation program has been extended until 12 noon on July 28. This extension comes in response to recruitment activities being hampered due to adverse conditions and unavoidable circumstances in several areas. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an urgent directive signed by Director General Shah Mohammad Mahbub outlines that all new and previously submitted applications must undergo verification, evaluation, and examination. The final list of selected candidates is scheduled to be published by July 30. The evaluation process is ongoing in certain areas, with local committees given the discretion to temporarily suspend tests to facilitate joint assessments for both new and old applicants. The directive further empowers local committees to decide on the postponement or continuation of examinations initially set for July 25 and 26, based on lo cal circumstances. Should examinations proceed as planned, additional tests must be arranged later for new applicants. Notably, the directive prohibits written tests in the recruitment process, mandating that candidates be assessed through practical and oral examinations, alongside an evaluation of academic GPA as per the approved manpower distribution. After the publication of the final list, schedules for training and subsequent activities will be redefined and communicated to the concerned parties. The Department of Social Services has urged all committee chairpersons, member-secretaries, and relevant officials to strictly adhere to the instructions to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the Family Card program.
