Truck-Motorcycle Collision Claims Lives of Two Women in Rangpur

Rangpur: Two women lost their lives in a head-on collision between a sand-laden truck and a motorcycle at the Rathbari area under Gangachara Model Police Station on Friday night. The motorcycle driver sustained serious injuries in the incident.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Officer-in-Charge Md Abdus Sabur of Gangachara Model Police Station confirmed the fatal accident this afternoon. The victims have been identified as Radha Rani Sarkar, 40, and Anjana Rani Sarkar, 50, both residents of Charaikhola Babupara village under Sadar upazila of Nilphamari district.

The critically injured motorcycle driver, Ajit Chandra Sarkar, has been admitted to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The accident occurred when the truck collided head-on with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, resulting in the immediate death of the two women and severe injuries to the motorcyclist.

Authorities have seized both the truck and the motorcycle involved in the accident. "The bodies have been handed over to the relatives after completing the legal process. A regular case has been registered at the Gangachara Model Police Station in this regard," added OC Sabur.
