Students Should Excel in Sports Alongside Academics, Says Milon

Dhaka: Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon emphasized the government's commitment to developing students who excel in both academics and sports. He shared these remarks while addressing a teachers' assembly and views-exchange meeting at Monoharpur High School in Kachua, Chandpur.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister highlighted the government's aim to make students proficient in sports and other co-curricular activities alongside their academic studies. As part of this initiative, sports and culture will be included in the Class IV curriculum to foster a well-rounded educational experience.

Dr. Milon further mentioned that initiatives are underway to introduce "Learning with Happiness" and technical education subjects in Class VI. He stressed the importance of equipping the younger generation with moral education, to be nurtured through family and religious values, alongside institutional education.

The minister also expressed the government's vision to develop Kachua as a model in the field of education. The event, presided over by the President of Monoharpur High School, Khorshed Alam Mannan, was attended by several notable figures, including Chairman of the Cumilla Education Board Professor Md. Ahsan Parvez, Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Ziaur Rahman, Chandpur Superintendent of Police Mizanur Rahman, and Kachua Upazila BNP leaders Md. Khairul Abedin Mia and Masud Elahi Subhas.
