Rajshahi Association Celebrates 155th Anniversary, Focuses on Heritage Conservation

Dhaka: Rajshahi Association, a historic institution integral to the region's social, cultural, and educational advancement, commemorated its 155th founding anniversary with a discussion meeting on Tuesday. The event emphasized the importance of preserving the organization's rich history and heritage while involving the younger generation in its activities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting took place in the conference room of the Rajshahi Association and was led by Sabur Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Vice-President of the association. Sabur Ali highlighted that the association is not just an organization but a vital part of Rajshahi's social and cultural history. He underscored the necessity to enhance its activities and fortify its role in preserving the region's heritage.

Mahbub Siddiqui, President of Heritage Rajshahi, delivered the keynote paper, accentuating the association's contributions to education, culture, public welfare, and social progress over the past 155 years. Other notable speakers included Hasen Ali, Member Secretary of the association and President of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Life Members Liakat Ali, Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury, Rezaul Islam, and Dr. Sabrina Anam.

The speakers noted that the association's enduring journey signifies the unity, social responsibility, and cultural awareness of Rajshahi's people, urging collective efforts to continue its legacy. The event was also attended by prominent figures such as Dr. Iftikharul Alam Masud, Registrar of Rajshahi University, and Advocate Abul Kashem, President of the Rajshahi Bar Association, among others.
