Dhaka: The Bangladesh national women's kabaddi team has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match bilateral kabaddi test series, securing a victory over the visiting Nepal women's team by 31-23 points in the third match held today at the National Kabaddi Stadium in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the match commenced with both teams demonstrating an attacking strategy, promising a competitive game. Bangladesh held the lead for much of the first half, despite Nepal's persistent challenges. A pivotal moment came in the 10th minute when Bangladesh executed the first all-out on Nepal, establishing a significant 17-10 advantage.
Nepal, however, made a commendable comeback after falling behind. A successful super raid by Nepal garnered three crucial points, narrowing the score gap. Bangladesh entered the halftime interval with a 17-13 lead.
In the second half, Bangladesh aimed to extend their lead by adding several more points, but Nepal continued to fight back to stay in the game. Ultimately, the hosts secured a 31-23 win, thereby claiming a 2-1 lead in the series.
Bangladesh emerged victorious in the opening match of the series, while Nepal equalized the series with a win in the second match. The pivotal fourth match is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the same venue at 4 pm.
