Dhaka: Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz expressed optimism about his team's future prospects following their decisive victory in the third One Day International (ODI) against Zimbabwe, despite losing the three-match series 2-1. The team is now focusing on carrying this momentum into the upcoming T20I series. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Miraz acknowledged that while his team showed potential, there remains room for improvement. Bangladesh concluded the ODI series with a dominant seven-wicket win after setbacks in the first two matches. "The boys played really well today," Miraz commented after the victory, crediting fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam for setting a strong tone. He also commended the opening partnership of Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Soumya Sarkar, whose 151-run partnership was crucial in chasing down Zimbabwe's target of 200. Despite the morale-boosting win, Miraz emphasized the importance of adapting to the challenges posed by Zimbabwe's playing conditions. "We have t o improve in a few areas. These are new conditions, and I hope in the future we think more about how to play in these conditions," he noted. On the opposing side, Zimbabwe's captain Richard Ngarava expressed satisfaction with his team's series victory, marking his debut as captain with a win. "It was quite important to start with a win, and the group is quite happy about it," Ngarava remarked, highlighting the performance of younger players and their potential for future success. Zimbabwe's all-rounder Brad Evans, who earned the Player of the Series title with consecutive half-centuries, reflected on the series. Despite the loss in the final game, he remained positive about his progress. "It's a bit disappointing to lose the last game, but we tried our best," Evans stated. "I've worked hard with the coaches and it's still a work in progress. I'm happy to see the rewards. Now it's another series and another opportunity in the T20Is."
